Arthur Melo is fully committed to Barcelona for the remainder of the current campaign, Blaugrana boss Quique Setien has suggested.

Reports have said that the Brazilian midfielder is on the verge of a move to Italian giants Juventus, with Miralem Pjanic heading to the Camp Nou in exchange.

Despite the formalities of the transfer the only aspects yet to conclude, Setien has confirmed that the 23-year-old is fully-focused on the race for the La Liga crown with Barcelona.

Talking in a press conference, he said: “I don’t know what his mother says, but he said the same as I did.

“I hope he is completely involved until the end of the season. He will be an addition if he is fully committed and will be honoured until the last day.

“He has claimed this, and I have no doubts about that. He says he will be available and in better conditions as long as I’m here to decide who will play.”

The Brazilian midfielder has been at the Camp Nou for two years since arriving from Gremio. In that time, he has made 72 appearances, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

He has fallen down the pecking order this season though having only started 14 La Liga matches all campaign.

However, he can be backed at a price of 14/1 with William Hill to net the opening goal of the match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening.
