Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has raved about the club’s new signing Raphael Varane.

Varane has joined Premier League giants United from Spanish and European powerhouse Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils announced earlier this week that they have agreed a deal with Madrid over the transfer of Varane.

The 28-year-old central defender is a decorated defender who has won a bunch of major trophies.

The former Lens man has won the La Liga title thrice and the Champion League on four occasions with Madrid.

Varane also won the 2018 World Cup final wit France.

Solskjaer told United’s official website about Varane: “Of course, I’m very happy that we’ve managed to get the deal with Real Madrid.

“He’s a proven winner and a player we’ve followed for many, many years. I know Sir Alex was very, very close to signing him and this time around we’ve got him at the other end of his career.

“He’s proved over his whole career what a good person he is, first of all. [He’s a] professional and he’s won all there is to win.”

United are now priced at 7/1 on Betfair to win the Premier League title next season.
