Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku is an injury doubt ahead of the Red Devils’ clash with Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The Belgian striker missed the weekend’s game against Bournemouth, in which the Red Devils won 2-1, with an unspecified injury. According to Sky Sports, Lukaku still had not returned to training with Jose Mourinho’s troops on Tuesday and is a major doubt for the trip to the Juventus Stadium.

He had previously been omitted from the side for United’s victory over Everton last week due to poor form. The 25-year-old has scored four goals in 14 games in all competitions so far this season but has not managed to find the net in his last five Premier League games, and is yet to get off the mark in the UEFA Champions League.

Lukaku scored 27 goals in 51 games throughout his debut season at Old Trafford since his big money move from Everton in the summer of 2017.

In the absence of the Belgian, Anthony Martial is the favourite to open the scoring for the Red Devils and can be backed at 11/1 with Paddy Power. Elsewhere, former United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has odds of 7/2 to score the first goal of the game.
