Real Madrid are ready to offer Lazio €155m for their star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in the Spanish press.

According to AS via Corriere dello Sport, Mateja Kezman and Lazio owner Claudio Lotito met to discuss a potential transfer for the 23-year-old. Although, negotiations have been put on hold until the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is apparently close to a move to Italian giants Juventus, is sorted.

Spain-born Milinkovic-Savic has enjoyed a stellar period in Rome since his switch from KRC Genk back in August 2015. He has made 122 appearances for Lazio, scoring 24 goals and assisting a further 20. His best season came in the 2017/18 campaign. The Serbian international made 48 appearances, scoring 14 and assisting nine.

He also had a pretty impressive World Cup having played every minute of Serbia’s campaign in Russia despite their elimination in the group stages.

Real Madrid face competition for his signature however. Manchester United are thought to be interested in acquiring his services too. Milinkovic-Savic still has four years left to run on his contract with Lazio.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid could be set to turn their attentions to Tottenham Hotspur man Christian Eriksen should they not land their man. Los Blancos are 8/1 with bookmakers Paddy Power to sign the Danish midfielder.
