The Spanish media started the rumour mill, whereas the British media are latching on the story adding more detail to a reported transfer of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.

The Belgium international has enjoyed a sensational season with Chelsea in the Premier League as he had a big hand in the fact Blues are sitting in pole position with one hand on the coveted trophy.

Hazard still has three years to run in his contract with the London-based club and the Chelsea hierarchy is attempting to open talks with the Belgian over extending his contract.

The Blues will offer their star man a £300,000 a week deal to keep him away from Santiago Bernabeu, but Real Madrid are thought to be unwilling to give up that easily although Chelsea feel that the most recent rumours are just an attempt to deliberately unsettle Hazard.

The latest rumours from the Times claim that Los Blancos could break the world transfer record to sign Eden Hazard at the end of the season with former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon already being quoted saying that Real will offer Chelsea £100 million for the Belgium international.

The 26-year-old winger has this season made 26 Premier League appearances, scoring 11 goals in the process.

Hazard has picked up a calf injury at Cobham two weeks ago and was forced to pull out of Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad, but Chelsea star man is likely to be fully fit to feature against Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Belgium is ever priced at 2.38 (11/8) to get on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge this Sunday.
