Borussia Dortmund starlet Ousmane Dembele has admitted it is his dream “to play for Barcelona one day”.

The 20-year-old French international has been a huge hit in his debut season in Bundesliga, scoring 10 goals and providing 21 assists in his 49 competitive outings with the German club.

Dembele continued his fine form with France as well and has most recently starred for Les Bleus in a high-profile international friendly match against England at Stade de France. Dembele was one of the most notable players in France’s ten-man 3-2 win over the Three Lions.

Ousmane Dembele’s impressive form has caused plenty of speculation regarding his future and the youngster has already been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona. The Catalans attempted to sign the Frenchman last year and Dembele himself revealed he held talks with Barcelona chiefs over the possibility to move to Camp Nou from Rennes.

“Last year I had contact with the Barcelona sporting director”, Dembele revealed.

His move to Borussia Dortmund proved to be a right decision since the talented teenager was instantly given a prominent role in the first-team, which was something he probably would not have gotten in Barcelona.

The Catalans returned for Dembele this year but Dortmund attempted to price them off the French forward by slapping a whopping £79 million price tag.

The Frenchman however reveals Barcelona is his dream and a club he would like to join one day, although he claims he is currently happy in Dortmund.

“I’m happy at Dortmund. I have a contract until 2021. I don’t pay attention to what is said.”, Dembele was quoted.
