Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi is set to join French giants Paris Saint Germain on a season-long loan, according to Sky in Italy.

The reports suggest that the former Nerazzurri captain has been deemed as surplus to requirements by new Inter coach Antonio Conte following the arrivals of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez at the San Siro.

The European transfer deadline is set to close on Monday evening, with Icardi set to sign a new contract with his parent club before his departure for Paris.

The Argentine has been with Inter Milan since 2013 after signing from Sampdoria. Making 219 appearances in all competitions for the club, he has managed to score 124 goals and provided 28 assists.

Hi arrival at the Parc de Princes is another impressive coup from boss Thomas Tuchel this summer. Abdoul Diallo and Idrissa Gueye have arrived from Borussia Dortmund and Everton respectively, whilst goalkeeper Sergio Rico has also been recruited from Sevilla on-loan. They also swooped for former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrerra following the expiry of the Spaniard’s contract at Old Trafford.

Once again, the Parisian club are clear favourites to lift the Ligue 1 crown this season and can be backed at a price as low as 1/10 with William Hill, whilst nearest challengers Lille are available at 8/1.
