Liverpool lining up Keylor Navas bid

Premier League giants Liverpool are enduring a difficult start to the season which has thus far exposed some significant defensive frailties for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The German tactician has transformed the Reds into a free-flowing and attack-oriented unit but has failed to address defensive issues that keep undermining all the good work at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is therefore said to be determined to deal with the problems at the back and is preparing a January plan to boost his options at the back.

The Reds are widely expected to return for the Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk whereas Klopp is also eyeing a move for a high-quality goalkeeper to put additional pressure on Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius who failed to live up to the expectations at the Merseyside club.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas but those claims have been denied by the player’s agent. However, the Spanish media outlet Diario Gol is claiming that Liverpool are expected to launch an attack on current Real Madrid shot stopper, Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rica international is said to be unhappy at Santiago Bernabeu and the fact club president Florentino Perez has never regarded him as a player big enough for the royal club.

And with Los Blancos now slipping to eight-point deficit behind Barcelona in La Liga, Florentino Perez’s attitude towards Navas is said to have changed dramatically.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly made a personal call to Keylor Navas to try and persuade him to come to Anfield where he would be given a fresh chance to prove his worth and enjoy the status he deserves.

In the meantime, Liverpool are preparing for a crucial Champions League clash against Maribor.

The Reds sit second in Group E, level on points with leaders Spartak Moscow and will be keen to record a comprehensive win in order to keep their continental campaign alive.

Liverpool need another strong reaction and could be backed for a valuable 2.62 (13/8) offer to score 5 or more goals against lowly Slovenian side.
