Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has said that he always does what the manager tells him and wants to score goals.

Jota has been playing well for Liverpool this season and is scoring goals regularly at the moment.

The Portugal international forward has made 18 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Reds so far this season, scoring 10 goals and providing one assist in the process.

The Liverpool no. 25 has scored one goal in three Champions League starts and has scored three goals in two Carabao Cup starts for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this campaign.

Jota told Liverpool’s official website: “I always try to do what the manager asks me to do.

“At Wolves we sometimes played with three up front and I was on the left, because we had a proper main striker in Raul [Jimenez]. When we played with two, I was up front. So it depends on what the manager asks me to do.

“I try to adapt and I think that’s one of my main characteristics. I don’t force anyone to adapt to me – I try to adapt to whatever is required and do my best.

“Maybe some people will say I’m not a proper false nine or I’m not a nine, whereas some others may like it.

“But whenever I’m on the pitch I aim to get goals and get the team reaching the opponent’s goal. That’s what I try to do.”

Liverpool are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 48 points from 22 matches, nine points behind leaders and defending champions Manchester City, who have played 23 games.

The Merseyside club can be backed at 6/1 on Betfair to win the Premier League title this season.
