Karim Benzema praises Real Madrid fans after win v PSG

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has praised the club’s fans for helping the team win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this week.

Spanish and European giant Madrid got the better of PSG 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side had lost the first leg 1-0 in Paris, which means that they have gone through to the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition 3-2 on aggregate.

PSG took the lead in Madrid through Karim Benzema in the 39th minute, but French striker Benzema scored a hat-trick in the second half.

Benzema told Madrid’s official website: “Any Champions Leaguegame is always difficult and we knew PSG like to have the ball. We started strongly, created chances and then we conceded the goal, but in the second half, showing great mental strength, we delivered the performance.
