Juventus have the toughest test of their Serie A season so far as they welcome Lazio on Saturday evening.

Max Allegri’s troops will aim to continue their positive start to the season following their 2-1 victory over Chievo Verona on the opening weekend. The reigning Italian champions are 4/11 to claim victory with bookmakers William Hill. Meanwhile, Lazio are winless in their last four league games following their 2-1 defeat to Napoli on the opening day of the season. Consequently, they are underdogs heading into their clash with Juventus. They are available to be backed at 7/1 to claim the three points.

Lazio’s task is made even tougher considering their terrible recent record against Juventus. Simone Inzaghi’s troops have not managed to beat their opponents since December 2003.

However, Lazio could target Juventus’ defence in a effort to grind out a result. Despite winning seven out of their last ten league games, the Old Lady have only kept two clean sheets in that time. Their defensive options have been bolstered with the return of veteran defender Leonardo Bonucci and they are at 1/1 with Betfred to claim a shutout against Lazio.

Whilst the defensive half of the field could potentially be pivotal, it is at the other end of the pitch that most supporters will be keen to see in action. Juventus arguably boast one of the most talented frontlines in the world with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic all extremely talented options. Ronaldo is one of the favourites to open the scoring with odds of 11/4 available with Paddy Power.

If Lazio are to score, forward Ciro Immobile, will likely be one of the most crucial players for the visitors. He bagged 29 goals last season and was awarded the top scorer award in Serie A. Immobile also scored four goals in three games against Juventus in 2017/18 so is naturally one of the favourites to open the scoring alongside Ronaldo. The Italian forward can be backed at 13/2.

The duo are also huge favourites to claim the top scorer award this season, too. The former Real Madrid forward is available at 4/6 to score the most goals in Serie A, whilst Immobile is slightly less fancied at 10/1 but could be a clever selection.

Ronaldo and Immobile are sure to feature on Saturday but both sides do have injury problems to contend with. Ricardo Kishna, Jordan Lukaku and Luiz Felipe are all ruled out for the visitors. Meanwhile, Leonardo Spinazzola is unlikely to feature for Juventus.
