RodriguezThe Italian champions have apparently already opened talks with Real Madrid regarding a summer transfer of James Rodriguez, according to various reports.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that the Colombian midfielder could be on his way to Turin, with super-agent Jorge Mendes playing a great hand in helping the Old Lady approach Los Blancos with an offer to sign their fringe player.

In addition, the Catalan paper Sport splashed an addition to this transfer news claiming that Rodriguez is sure to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season and that Juventus seem a likely option that could be a proper competitive challenge for the out-of-favour star.

Rodriguez has endured a difficult season in 2015-16 both under Rafa Benitez and Zinedine Zidane.

The Colombian failed to impress this season with different reports of weight and fitness problems, all the way to his attitude preventing him from making an impact in the squad.

Rodriguez’s salary of €5.5 million per season also presents a problem for Florentino Perez and the club is eager to get the Colombian off their books in the next campaign.

Real Madrid are looking for a fee of €40 million up to €50 million for the player whom Los Blancos paid a whopping sum of €80 million after the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Juventus and Real Madrid are likely to start discussing a number of transfer deals this summer with Los Blancos expected to utilize their buy back clause on Alvaro Morata, while Juventus are keen to go home empty handed and will pounce for the 24-year-old Colombian.

James Rodriguez on his part is keen to see the current season end as soon as possible. He is not expected to play a major part in his team’s photo-finish, as Real Madrid are rushing towards their 11th European title.

Real Madrid have played a goalless draw at Manchester City in the first leg of UEFA Champions League semi-finals, but are still given the odds of 3.00 (2/1) @Ladbrokes to lift the coveted European trophy at the end of this year’s campaign in the competition.
