Manchester United are sitting on the verge of their third summer signing.

Serbia international midfielder Nemanja Matic has already completed his medicals ahead of the £40 million transfer from Chelsea and his imminent arrival has raised plenty of questions regarding the future of Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgian midfielder is not the most popular figure at Old Trafford as he failed to properly settle into the Manchester United team ever since his 2013 arrival from Everton. Rough around the edges and raw in his approach, Marouane Fellaini was shifted from a midfielder role to a makeshift centre-forward during his days as a Red Devil, but his versatility seems to be the attribute Jose Mourinho appreciates the most.

Ever since Nemanja Matic was pictured in a Manchester United shirt this weekend, a transfer story spread claiming that Fellaini is set to be offloaded to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The 29-year-old Belgian hit the headlines in multiple media outlets claiming Fellaini reportedly agreed terms with the Istanbul powerhouse, but Jose Mourinho was quick to rebuff such claims.

The Portuguese tactician has branded his player as ‘too important’ saying there was ‘no chance’ Fellaini was leaving United.

“It’s easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. He is too important to me. No chance.”, Mourinho explained following his side’s 3-0 victory over Valerenga.

Manchester United begin the new Premier League season on 13 August when they will play host to West Ham United.

The Red Devils can already be found at 4/11 betting odds to claim a win at Old Trafford.
