Revived Sassuolo can make a giant step towards survival by defeating leaders Juventus, but that is obviously easier said than done.

The Bianconeri could be in for a nervy finish unless they can win in Reggio Emilia, with Roma having closed the gap to five points.

Just few weeks back Sassuolo were sitting in the relegation zone and their survival prospects looked pretty bleak following back to back home defeats to Sampdoria and Roma.

However, the Neroverdi then managed to turn things around, taking seven points from next three matches to climb away from the relegation zone.

It was away triumphs over Atalanta and Chievo that could prove crucial in the final count, and with both Bologna and Livorno losing their games this weekend, Sassuolo have a chance to create a three-point advantage over the bottom three.

That will be no easy task given Eusebio Di Francesco’s charges are facing Juventus on Monday evening, but bear in mind Neroverdi are 3.20 (11/5) not to lose the game.

The boss faces a genuine selection headache as Domenico Berardi, Davide Biondini and Simone Missiroli are all banned.

Luca Marrone, Matteo Brighi and Nicola Sansone are doubtful, whilst Acerbi, Alexe, Bianco, Manfredini and Ariaudo are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Pegolo – Gazzola, Antei, Cannavaro, Longhi – Chibsah, Magnanelli, Ziegler – Masucci, Zaza, Floro Flores.

In spite of some impressive showings in Serie A, Juventus have yet to clinch the third league trophy in a row with Roma still breathing down their necks.

The Bianconeri will attempt to restore the eight-point advantage ahead of the final three fixtures which would probably guarantee them the trophy, but a slip up in Reggio Emilia would seriously complicate things.

With a view to the return match, Antonio Conte looks set to rest some of his starters against Sassuolo, but Juve remain 1.45 (9/20) favourites to win at Stadio Citta del Tricolore.

Andrea Barzagli and Arturo Vidal will not be risked, whilst Carlos Tevez, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Giorgio Chiellini could be rested.
