Brazilian giants Santos have moved to confirm that they have received an official proposal from Juventus for star striker Gabriel Barbosa.
Gabigol has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Brazil and he has already shown a great deal of potential playing for the Sao Paulo outfit.
Reports emerged on Tuesday that Inter were closing in on the 19-year-old footballer, but Santos president Modesto Roma has denied the offer being made.
“The Inter offer? I haven’t received anything,” Roma said.
However, he has confirmed that Juventus have submitted a proposal and the club are currently reviewing the offer.
“Juve? I have asked for more time.”
Gabriel Barbosa has so far scored 43 goals in 129 league appearances for Santos and he is already dubbed the “next Neymar”.
Gabigol will represent Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics on home soil, where the Selecao are 2.00 (1/1) to win the gold medal.
