Former Inter Milan forward Samuel Eto’o has predicted his former side to win the Serie A title this season.
The Nerazzurri currently sit third in the table, six points behind leaders Juventus albeit with a game in hand. The title challenge marks a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for Inter, who have not been close to winning the title since finishing second in 2010/11.
Eto’o, a treble winner with the club under Jose Mourinho, believes that his former employers will finally end their long wait for glory this season and suggest that current Inter boss Antonio Conte deserves a lot of credit.
Talking to Sky Sport Italia, he said: “Inter will win the Scudetto.
“Conte really has not changed. He is the same coach we saw at Juventus or Chelsea, no more and no less, that is his idea of football. I am glad, because after so many highs and lows, at this moment Inter are getting the respect they deserve again.”
The odds are surely set to change throughout the remainder of the season as Inter aim to deny Juventus getting their hands on their ninth consecutive Serie A crown. Eto’o’s prediction of the Nerazzurri to win the league can currently be backed at odds of 9/2 with William Hill.
