Sampdoria vs JuventusSampdoria remained in the Serie A top 5 despite failing to win their fifth successive match, and they have no choice but to try and end the barren run against the reigning champions.

Juventus edged closer to the league trophy by defeating local rivals Fiorentina and they hope to secure the title on Saturday at Marassi.

Sampdoria appear to be slowly losing ground after playing some very good football throughout the campaign, but they have had some other results go into their favour.

That is probably the main reason why the Blucerchiati still occupy the fifth position in the league standings despite taking just three points from last five matches.

But, with Inter Milan and Genoa breathing down their necks, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s charges will have to return to winning ways soon if they want to secure European qualification.

And while this is not exactly a perfect time to be facing leaders Juventus, bear in mind that home win pays 3.30 (23/10) at BetVictor.

Sampdoria could only manage a 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona in midweek, and they will be hoping to show some improvement this time out.

The hosts will be without Eder and Afriyie Acquah through injury and suspension respectively, but Samuel Eto’o should be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Viviano – De Silvestri, Munoz, Romagnoli, Regini – Soriano, Obiang, Duncan – Eto’o – Muriel, Okaka.

Juventus made a giant step towards winning the fourth successive league title by beating arch rivals Fiorentina, while the victory was important for another reason.

The 14-point advantage over second-placed Lazio will allow coach Max Allegri to experiment with his side against Sampdoria so as to keep key men fresh for the upcoming clash with Real Madrid.

With the league trophy in the bag, the Champions League campaign has the priority at the moment, although that is not to say Juventus will roll over for the Blucerchiati.

Even with Max Allegri set to rest some of his starters, the Bianconeri have been made 2.50 (3/2) favourites to win at Marassi.

Leonardo Bonucci returns from suspension, but now Patrice Evra is banned. Paul Pogba, Kwadwo Asamoah, Martin Caceres and Romulo are out injured.

The likes of Ogbonna, Padoin, Pepe and Matri are all tipped to start as Max Allegri looks to make wholesale changes to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Storari – Padoin, Ogbonna, Bonucci, De Ceglie – Sturaro, Marrone, Pereyra – Pepe – Matri, Coman.
