Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly set to leave the club this summer with former club River Plate interested in bringing him back.

The Argentine forward started his career at the club, representing them for two seasons and putting in some spectacular performances before departing for Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2006 for €12m. In 33 appearances for the club, he scored 15 goals.

Now Argentinian outlet Clarin are reporting a return for their future hero ,should he decide to leave his current employers Juventus, could be on the cards. Any move would be the first time he has departed European football since originally joining Real 14 years ago

Throughout his career, Higuain has also represented the likes of Napoli, AC Milan and Chelsea. In that time, he has made 623 senior appearances and scored 305 goals.

His best season arguably came in the 2015/16 season as he was named as the top goalscorer in Serie A after netting 36 strikes. He has not been as prolific this season but still played an important part as Juventus sit top of Serie A under Maurizio Sarri.

Following the suspension of the majority of European football due to coronavirus, the Old Lady are one point clear of nearest challengers Lazio and are at 2/5 with Betfair to win the league this season.
