Serie A leaders Inter Milan will be aiming to extend their advantage at the top of the table as they travel to Stadio San Paolo to face Napoli on Monday evening.
Antonio Conte’s currently sit top, just edging ahead of champions Juventus on goal difference and look in a very good position to continue their challenge for a first title since 2010. Meanwhile, Napoli have struggled so far this season, an aspect that has seen former boss Carlo Ancelotti lose his job. The Partenopei languish in eighth position following the first-half of the campaign.
Whilst they have been disappointing this season, a win against Inter could potentially reignite their season and get Gennaro Gattuso off to a brilliant start in charge of the club. If the last meeting between the two sides is anything to go by, Napoli could indeed be a good bet to scoop the three points. Last clashing in May last season, the hosts ran out 4-1 winners with goals from Piotr Zielinski, Dries Mertens and a brace from Fabian Ruiz, with Mauro Icardi scoring a late consolation from the penalty spot.
Napoli sit at odds of 6/4 with Betfred to earn what would be a morale-boosting victory, with a draw available at 23/10. Elsewhere, Inter are at a price of 13/8 to earn another big three points.
However, despite that win against Inter last season, Napoli have not quite been as strong on home soil during the 2019/20 campaign. The team have only won three games at the San Paolo all season and have lost both of their last two home league matches 2-1 to Bologna and Parma respectively. This scoreline to be repeated sits at 17/2 with Paddy Power.
In order to avoid that though, the Naples outfit will certainly have to keep an eye out for former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian forward has been in tremendous form since his arrival in the summer, having scored 12 league goals already throughout the campaign. He is available at 4/1 with William Hill to net the opening goal on Monday evening. Whilst having not scored with the frequency of Lukaku, Arkadiusz Milik has scored the most amount of Serie A goals in the entire Napoli squad with six. He also sits at a price of 4/1 to net the first strike of the game.
Both sides have a handful of injury worries ahead of the match itself. For Inter, Kwadwo Asamoah and Danilo D’Ambrosio are both ruled out, whilst Kalidou Koulibaly, Kevin Malcuit and Dries Mertens are all restricted to the sidelines.
