AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli has undergone a surgery on his groin, the Italian Serie A side have announced.
The Italy international picked up the problem almost two month ago and the medical team decided the surgery was the only way to go.
The procedure was a success, meaning that Balotelli is expected to resume full training in some four weeks.
“The operation was technically successful and the recovery time is around four weeks, assuming there are no complications,” AC Milan statement read.
The 25-year-old has only managed one goal in four league apperances since joining the Rossoneri on loan from Liverpool.
But, he does not appear to have been sorely missed, with Milan winning three of last four matches, and priced at 7.50 (13/2) to see off champions Juventus in Turin.
