Lazio vs Juventus previewBuoyed by the 4-3 away win over Atalanta, Lazio will attempt to put a dent into Juventus’ title hopes and end a seven-match losing run in meetings with the Bianconeri.

Max Allegri’s charges had to work hard for the win over rivals Fiorentina, with new boy Gonzalo Higuain scoring the winner.

Lazio are desperate to show improvement this term after largely struggling last season, but that will be no easy task apparently.

The Biancocelesti have seen Miroslav Klose, Antonio Candreva and Ogenyi Onazi leave the club, while signing Ciro Immobile, Jordan Lukaku, Wallace, Bastos and Moritz Leitner.

But, with several important players missing, they were not exactly expected to defeat Atalanta on the road last weekend.

Nevertheless, the impressive start to the game and three first half goals eventually proved enough for an important triumph that will give the team something to build on ahead of the Juventus game.

Lazio are available at 5.00 (4/1) to defeat their more illustrious opponents as they welcome back a couple of important players to the side.

Senad Lulic, Stefan Radu and Felipe Anderson are all available for selection and they should be in the starting line-up against Juventus.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-3): Marchetti – Bastos, De Vrij, Radu – Basta, Parolo, Biglia, Lukaku – Anderson, Immobile, Lulic.

Jventus are again the dominant force in Italian Serie A, having won five straight league trophies, and they are strong favourites to make it six on the bounce.

And while the Bianconeri obviously hope to defend the league title, they also plan to launch an assault on the Champions League trophy.

Juventus came close to winning the competition two years ago when they were beaten in the final by Barcelona, while they were eliminated by Bayern Munich last term.

The Bianconeri have done some excellent business in the transfer market this summer, cashing in on Paul Pogba, Roberto Pereyra and Maurizio Isla, while recruiting Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic, Dani Alves, Marko Pjaca and Mehdi Benatia.

Even so, Juventus were far from impressive in their opening fixture against Fiorentina, but eventually emerged victorious, and head into the Lazio clash in good spirits.

Stefano Sturaro and Claudio Marchisio continue to miss out, but Miralem Pjanic is back from a hip injury and Gonzalo Higuain should start.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Alves, Khedira, Pjanic, Asamoah, Evra – Dybala, Higuain.
