Having largely impressed in recent Serie A fixtures, Lazio will attempt to extend the great run of results when they take on Genoa in the Coppa Italia last 16 stage.

The Rossoblu are in all sorts of problems at the moment and they could really use a morale-boosting result after four successive defeats.

Lazio have struggled to keep up with other Italian giants in recent years, although they did manage to secure a top 3 finish two years ago.

However, having failed to reach the Champions League group stages, they hope to make things right in the current campaign.

Talented manager Simone Inzaghi has so far done really well to defy the odds and following some impressive showings, his side now sit one point behind third-placed Napoli.

Lazio have been in excellent form of late, winning four of last five league fixtures, and they can now be backed at 1.57 (4/7) to defeat Genoa as well.

Balde Diao Keita continues to miss out as he represents Senegal at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but there are no other selection worries.

With the Serie A derby against Juventus on the horizon, Inzaghi is expected to rest some of his star men, meaning that Immobile, Milinkovic-Savic and Felipe Anderson should be left out.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Marchetti – Wallace, Hoedt, Bastos – Basta, Murgia, Parolo, Lukaku – Kishna, Alberto – Djordjevic.

Genoa had enjoyed one of their best starts to a league campaign, climbing to European positions, but their bright run was short lived.

The performances slowly started to drop, with the Rossoblu pretty disappointing either side of the winter break.

Genoa became only the second side to lose a Serie A fixture to Palermo as they suffered a 4-3 loss at home, but that was only the beginning of their worries.

The team have since suffered defeats to Torino, AS Roma and Cagliari, scoring just one goal in the process, so it is clear they head into the Lazio game low on spirits.

Genoa are now without a first choice goalkeeper Mattia Perin, who has been ruled out for the season through a knee ligament injury.

Serge Gakpe, Miguel Veloso and Davide Biraschi are sidelined as well and they are now expected to return for another couple of weeks.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Lamanna – Munoz, Gentiletti, Orban – Lazovic, Cataldi, Cofie, Laxalt – Ninkovic, Ocampos – Pinilla.
