Fiorentina vs JuventusSerie A leaders Juventus will want to make amends for the first defeat in Derby della Mole after twenty years when they face rivals Fiorentina in midweek.

Viola, too, will have something to prove in Turin having slipped to sixth in the overall standings after losing the third straight league fixture.

It has been a given for quite a while now that Juventus will soon clinch fourth straight league title, and it is only a matter of time before Max Allegri’s charges are crowned champions.

But, even if the Champions League campaign has the priority at the moment, the Bianconeri must have been disappointed to lose the local derby to Torino at the weekend.

Juventus remained 14 points clear at the Serie A summit, nonetheless, but they will be eager to show improvement having lost two of last three league matches.

A week from now, the Bianconeri will be contesting the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Real Madrid and they now aim to improve the spirits by defeating Fiorentina.

After pipping their rivals to a place in the Coppa Italia final, Juventus can be backed at 1.73 (8/11) to pile more misery on Viola.

The hosts will be without the suspended Leonardo Bonucci, while Patrice Evra is doubtful and Paul Pogba remains sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini, Padoin – Marchisio, Pirlo, Vidal – Pereyra – Tevez, Llorente.

There is not too much time for Fiorentina to save the current season, although the Europa League trophy would probably right all the wrongs.

Viola did well to qualify for the semis by defeating Dynamo Kiev and if they go all the way, they will have clinched the elusive Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina missed an excellent opportunity to make it to the Coppa Italia final, while their league campaign is proving a major disappointment.

Viola are now outside the European positions after the 3-1 home loss to struggling Cagliari and they don’t have much to hope for ahead of the trip to Turin.

However, having won at Juventus Arena in the Coppa Italia semis, Vincenzo Montella’s charges are available at 6.00 (5/1) to do it all over again.

There are no fresh injury worries for the former AS Roma coach, but strikers Giuseppe Rossi and Khouma Babacar are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Neto – Tomovic, Rodriguez, Savic, Pasqual – Fernandez, Aquilani, Valero – Joaquin, Gomez, Salah.
