Juventus vs RomaRelentless Juventus long ago leapfrogged AS Roma in the league standings and they now hope to keep their title bid on track by piling more misery on the Giallorossi.

Having failed to defeat Hellas Verona on his return to Stadio Olimpico, Luciano Spalletti could dread the prospect of facing in-form Bianconeri in Turin.

The early season struggles now seem like a distant past as Juventus are back to being the force to be reckoned with we remember them by.

It is the big strength in depth that has helped the Bianconeri achieve their best results during the busy schedule and it definitely gave them an advantage over most title rivals.

Juventus have now won seven games in a row on all fronts, making it to the Coppa Italia semi-finals, while climbing to second in Serie A.

Max Allegri’s side now sit mere two points behind leaders Napoli, so no wonder they are again regarded as the main candidates for the trophy.

Having recorded yet another morale-boosting win as they defeated Lazio on the road, Juventus are now 1.67 (4/6) favourites to see off AS Roma as well.

Roberto Pereyra and Mario Lemina continue to miss out, but Andrea Barzagli is back in contention and Paul Pogba will be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Khedira, Marchisio, Pogba, Evra – Mandzukic, Dybala.

Every time it seemed that AS Roma were ready to mount a serious title bid over the last few years, the team would suffer a disappointing defeat and it is now clear that this will not be the breakthrough season for the club.

The club bosses recently decided to sack Rudi Garcia and it is now up to former coach Luciano Spalletti to attempt to secure Champions League qualification.

That will be no easy task considering that AS Roma are already five points behind third-placed Inter, but no doubt that a good performance against red-hot Juventus would serve as a major confidence boost.

The problem is that the Giallorossi are winless in last six matches on the road, and this is definitely not the right time to be facing mighty Juventus.

Seydou Keita has resumed training and he is back in contention, but Vasilis Torosidis struggles with a bout of flu and he faces a fitness test. Kevin Strootman, Ezequiel Ponce and Salih Ucan are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Szczesny – Rudiger, De Rossi, Manolas – Torosidis, Florenzi, Pjanic, Nainggolan, Digne – Salah, Dzeko.
