Inter vs LazioSerie A leaders Inter Milan will be looking to pile more misery on fallen giants Lazio and at the same time cement the first position in the standings.

The Biancocelesti arrive at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza hoping to end a seven-match winless run in the league that is threatening to ruin their season.

Compared to their performances from last season, Inter Milan have shown incredible improvement this term and midway through the league campaign they look the most likely candidates for the league trophy.

The Nerazzurri already boast a four-point cushion at the Serie A summit, having won 11 of first 16 games and they have clearly proved the doubters wrong.

After they had recorded just one comprehensive win (by margin of two goals or more) in first 15 matches, many believed Inter were just very fortunate to climb to the top of the standings.

However, Roberto Mancini’s charges then went on and hammered Udinese 4-0 on the road, before also recording a 3-0 triumph over Cagliari in Coppa Italia.

And with the team recording seven wins without conceding in last eight matches, bear in mind that Inter Milan are 3.00 (2/1) to win to nil.

Roberto Mancini welcomes back Gary Medel, Davide Santon and Danilo D’Ambrosio to the side, with Nemanja Vidic the only unavailable footballer at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Handanovic – D’Ambrosio, Miranda, Murillo, Alex Telles – Guarin, Medel, Brozovic – Jovetic, Icardi, Ljajic.

After they had impressed to achieve a top 3 finish in Italian Serie A last term, Lazio have experienced all sorts of problems this season.

Nothing seems to be going according to plan for Stefano Pioli and his men of late, especially in the league campaign.

And while the Biancocelesti secured their place in the Europa League knockout stages and Coppa Italia quarter-finals, they cannot seem to get their Serie A campaign back on track.

The seven-match winless run (D2 L5) saw Lazio slip to 12th in the league standings and they now face a mountain to climb in an attempt to keep their European hopes alive.

The Biancocelesti did dominate the midweek encounter with Udinese, but needed plenty of opportunities to break the opponents, which clearly suggests the lack of confidence is seriously affecting the players.

To add insult to injury, first choice keeper Federico Marchetti has been added to the treatment room, but at least Dusan Basta should return.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Berisha – Basta, Hoedt, Mauricio, Radu – Biglia, Parolo – Candreva, Milinkovic-Savic, Anderson – Matri.
