Genoa vs MilanGenoa aim to make amends for the heavy defeat to Hellas Verona and edge closer to the top half of the standings, whilst their opponents AC Milan are searching for their third successive league victory.

It was the return of boss Gian Piero Gasperini that proved crucial for team’s survival chances this season, with the Rossoblu having managed to secure their Serie A status much earlier than anyone could predict.

With just seven games to go, Genoa already sit 14 points clear of the relegation zone, boasting more points than they had at the end of last league campaign.

The Rossoblu recovered well from back to back defeats to Chievo and Juventus, having held Parma to a 1-1 draw before beating Lazio at their Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

However, after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Hellas Verona last time out, Genoa are no less than 4.00 (3/1) to return to winning ways against Milan.

Luca Antonini and Nicolas Burdisso are back in contention, while Daniele Portanova also returns, but he will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Ricardo Centurion has resumed full training, but Juraj Kucka, Matuzalem and Sime Vrsaljko miss out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Perin – Antonini, Burdisso, Marchese – Motta, Sturaro, Bertolacci, Cofie, Antonelli – Gilardino, Sculli.

Unlike his Genoa counterpart, Clarence Seedorf experienced all sorts of problems in the early stage of his career at San Siro, and it remains to be seen if he will be able to keep hold of his first managerial job.

A four-match losing run in all competitions has seen the boss and his team come under extreme criticism, but the Rossoneri have since returned to the right track.

And while the 1-1 away draw against Lazio was seen as a step in the right direction, back to back wins over Fiorentina and Chievo helped the players restore some of the lost confidence.

Taking also into account that their next opponents have been far from impressive of late, Milan look a good bet at 2.10 (11/10).

Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari have been added to the injury list, but captain Riccardo Montolivo is set to return.

Philippe Mexes and Kevin Constant are back from suspension, but Stephan El Shaarawy, Mattia De Sciglio and Andrea Petagna remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Abbiati – Abate, Rami, Mexes, Emanuelson – De Jong, Montolivo – Honda, Kaka, Taarabt – Balotelli.
