Juventus midfielder Emre Can is reportedly edging close to a move to Borussia Dortmund.

According to Sky in Germany, talks between the two clubs got back underway on Monday, with a fee for his signature set to be negotiated.

Can, who arrived in Turin on a free transfer from Liverpool back in 2018, has made 45 appearances in all for the club, scoring four goals.

However, he has found opportunities under new boss Maurizio Sarri hard to come by. In all competitions, he has only made two starts, with his last start in the league coming back in early December.

Should he complete his move to the Signal Iduna Park, it would signal the 25-capped German international’s first return to his homeland since he turned out for Bayer Leverkusen in 2014. Can has also represented Dortmund’s great rivals Bayern Munich throughout his career.

His potential future employers are currently in a battle with Bayern in an effort to lift the Bundesliga crown. Dortmund currently sit fourth in the table, four points behind leaders RB Leipzig, whilst Hans-Dieter Flick’s troops sit three points and two places better off after 19 matches.

Bayern are favourites to lift the Bundesliga title come the end of the campaign and can be backed at odds of 8/15 with Betfair, whilst Borussia Dortmund will hope Can’s apparent imminent arrival enhances their current 5/1 chances.
