Juventus star signing from Real Madrid Alvaro Morata will not be making his debut any time soon after picking up a knee ligament injury in training.
The Spanish forward strained his knee ligament soon after completing a €20 million deal from los Blancos, with the initial reports suggest he could miss around 50 days.
In case the issue can be sorted out with a surgery, Morata could return into action by the end of August.
Juventus confirmed the injury on their official website, adding that the youngster has suffered a second degree strain to the medial collateral ligament.
“Alvaro Morata this morning underwent an MRI scan after being forced to depart yesterday afternoon’s training session early due to injury,” the statement read.
“The tests, carried out at Turin’s Clinica Fornaca di Sessant, revealed a second grade tear of the medial collateral ligament in the striker’s left knee.He is estimated to return to action in 50 days.”
Even with Morata sidelined, Juventus remain 2.20 (6/5) favourites for the league trophy having won last three Serie A championships.
