Alex Sandro: ‘I never thought about leaving Juventus’

Juventus defender Alex Sandro has suggested that leaving the club never crossed his mind throughout the summer.

The Brazilian, signed from FC Porto in 2015, was previously linked with a big money exit from Turin during the transfer window, specifically to Manchester United. However, no much move materialised and the defender remained with the Italian champions.

Sandro admitted that in his mind no such transfer was on the cards but did suggest that any talk of a contract renewal was premature. Talking to Sky Sports Italia, the 27-year-old said: “I never thought about leaving Juventus, but I haven’t yet received a renewal offer yet.

“I still have this year of contract left and the next one, I’ll keep focusing on the present and then we’ll see what happens.”

Since arriving at the Juventus Stadium, Sandro has become first choice left-back. He has made 119 appearance for the club in his time, scoring nine goals and providing 18 assists. Sandro has also managed to win three Serie A titles and three Coppa Italias.

Juventus take on minnows Frosinone in the league on Sunday evening having won their opening four league games. The defender can be backed to score the opening goal at 15/1 with bookmakers BetVictor.
