Milan vs NapoliHaving ended the bright run of results by losing to high-flying Genoa, AC Milan need to try and revive their top 3 hopes by defeating rivals Napoli.

The Azzurri have failed to win any of their last three league fixtures and chances are they wouldn’t be too happy with fourth straight draw.

AC Milan have been showing signs of promise under Pippo Inzaghi, but it is clear they are still not where they want to be.

The Rossoneri have struggled for consistency from the very start, while the lack of a proven goalscorer is also considered a major issue.

Midfielders Jeremy Menez and Keisuke Honda have helped compensate for the misfiring Fernando Torres and Stephan El Shaarawy, but it is perfectly clear Milan need to sign a high-profile striker in January.

Meanwhile, they need to remain as close to the Champions League positions as possible, with the Rossoneri 2.88 (17/9) to see off Napoli.

Captain Riccardo Montolivo is set to keep his place in the side after returning from a difficult injury, while Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien are back in contention.

Jeremy Menez will continue to play as a false nine, whereas Ignazio Abate, Alex, Mattia De Sciglio and Marco van Ginkel are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lopez – Bonera, Rami, Mexes, Armero – Montolivo, de Jong, Muntari – Bonaventura, Menez, El Shaarawy.

Napoli were hoping to finally mount a serious title challenge this season, but chances are they won’t be able to keep up with Juventus and Roma.

The Azzurri have even slipped from the third place on the back of three successive draws, as they currently sit two points behind Champions League positions.

The team did well to win the first place in their Europa League group, but the Serie A campaign obviously remains the priority.

Napoli haven’t been too impressive on the road this season, but having beaten Genoa, Sassuolo and Fiorentina, they are available at 2.70 (17/10) to defeat AC Milan as well.

The likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Raul Albiol, Rafael and David Lopez will be recalled after they were rested in midweek.

Meanwhile, Christian Maggio is banned and Michu, Juan Camilo Zuniga and Lorenzo Insigne miss out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Rafael – Henrique, Koulibaly, Albiol, Ghoulam – Lopez, Inler – Callejon, Hamsik, Mertens – Higuain.
