Zambia vs Ghana preview

Zambia have already reached their goal of qualifying for the semis, meaning that the pressure will be on Ghana, as the Black Stars will settle for nothing less than the AFCON title.

Having done really well at the past few tournaments, Zambia were tipped as one of the side that could surprise one of the big guns and reach the final stages of the tournament.

Herve Renard’s side dully delivered as they won the first place in a very strong group, before securing their semi-final berth with a 3-0 victory over Sudan.

The Chipolopolo can now play without any pressure as they have already fulfilled their ambitions, which is likely to result in a pretty good performance against tired Ghana.

Therefore, backing Zambia to qualify for the final at odds of 3.50 (5/2) offered by BetVictor may not be such a bad idea.

Boss Herve Renard has absolutely no injury worries, although Clifford Mulenga has been sent home because of unprofessional behaviour.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Mweene – Nkausu, Sunzu, Himonde, Musonda – Lungu, Sinkala, Chansa – C. Katongo, Mayuka, Kalaba.

Ghana arrived to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea looking for their first title after 30 years, and the Black Stars have done well to reach the semi-finals.

However, Goran Stevanovic’s side haven’t really been playing to their potential at this tournament as they failed to outplay their opponents in any of the four matches so far.

On paper, Ghana are one of the strongest teams in the competition and they are considered favourites against Zambia, with 188BET paying 1.98 (49/50) on away win.

After playing full 120 minutes in the quarter-final clash against Tunisia, Ghana players could struggle to give their best against Zambia, especially as their opponents had an extra day of rest after the Sudan game.

Key defender John Mensah is a major injury doubt, and his potential absence could be a real blow for the Black Stars.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Kwarasey – Inkoom, Boye, John Mensah, Alhassan – A. Ayew, Badu, Annan, Muntari – K. Asamoah – Gyan.

why can’t plavi feature derek boateng, muntari is of age and less skillful, derek boateng is on his top form and can also help asamoah gyan with some tricky passess, which can make scoring very simple for asamoah gyan.so i think muntari should rather warm the bench whiles derek boateng starts the game expecially in thisour last crucial matches.
