Morrison DorransWest Bromwich midfielders James Morrison and Graham Dorrans were forced to pull out of Scotland squad for World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and FYR Macedonia.

With three games to go, Scotland are out of contention for a place at the tournament finals, but Gordon Strachan’s side are hoping to keep the momentum going following a glorious away victory over Croatia.

However, their preparations for the matches against Belgium and FYR Macedonia have been marred by injuries to Morrison and Dorrans.

And while the attacking midfielder picked up a groin injury in the Premiership match against Swansea at the weekend, Scottish FA did not disclose the reason why Dorrans had withdrawn.

“He (Morrison) felt a pain in his groin just before half-time, the last couple of minutes in the first half,” West Brom manager Steve Clarke said.

“The medical people will assess it but I would imagine he is doubtful for the Scotland trip.”

Scotland host group leaders Belgium at Hampton Park on Friday evening, and they are 5.00 (4/1) with SkyBet to record another victory.
