Tottenham and Rubin Kazan sit at the top of Group A after two rounds and are likely to stay there come end of the group stage, even if Harry Redknapp continues to field under strength sides in Europa League.

Spurs have been in pretty good form of late, taking 13 points from last 5 league games, while also doing well in Europe.

After bringing one point from the difficult away game against PAOK, Tottenham beat Shamrock Rovers at the Lane to stake their claim for the first place in the group.

The hosts are now set to face a much tougher task against Rubin, especially if Redknapp continues his rotation policy, and everything suggests that he will, so odds of 1.75 (3/4) offered by Betfair on home win do not represent a real value.

Ledley King, Michael Dawson, Niko Kranjcar and William Gallas miss out through injury, whereas Rafael van der Vaart is ineligible.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Cudicini – Walker, Kaboul, Bassong, Rose – Lennon, Livermore, Carroll, Dos Santos – Pavlyuchenko, Defoe.

Rubin Kazan have seen a major uptrend in fortunes over the last few years, with back to back Russian Premier League titles something that not even their most optimistic fans could expect.

The Tatarstan club have shown a lot of promise in last two editions of the Champions Leaague, but they had to settle for Europa League this term after being eliminated from Lyon.

Rubin made a big step towards the knockout stage by beating Shamrock in Ireland, although they failed to win their home game against PAOK.

The Russian side now have a good opportunity to get something from White Hart Lane as they are set to face an under strength Spurs, and Rubin are 2.20 (6/5) with Stan James not to lose.

Strikers Obafemi Martins and Vladimir Dyadyun remain sidelined, whereas midfielder Carlos Eduardo is closing in on his return from injury. Playmaker Roman Eremenko is ineligible.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Ryzhikov – Kuzmin, Navas, Sharonov, Bochetti – Natcho, Noboa – Ryazantsev, A. Eremenko, Karadeniz – Valdez.
