Romania vs Bosnia-Hercegovina preview

After the FIFA suspension was lifted, Bosnia will be allowed to resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign, with the game in Romania the first on their agenda.

Romania have had an awful start to the qualifying campaign, picking up just two points from first four games, before they finally recorded a win at home to Luxembourg.

Razvan Lucescu’s side are, nonetheless, still in the race for the second place in the standings and a victory over Bosnia would definitely be a welcoming boost before the remainder of the qualifying campaign.

Inter defender Cristian Chivu has surprised everyone by declaring his retirement from international football just before the Bosnia game, with Ciprian Marica set to take over the captain’s armband.

Dorin Goian, Stefan Radu and Bogdan Stancu all miss out through injuries, making life difficult for boss Razvan Lucescu.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Tatarusanu – Sapunaru, Tamas, Gardos, Rat – Torje, Alexa, Muresan, Florescu – Mutu, Marica.

Bosnia, too, had a slow start to the Euro 2012 qualifiers, but Safet Susic’s side made a big step towards the second place in the group by beating Romania last time out.

The team were subsequently suspended from all FIFA competitions, but that ban has now been lifted and Bosnia will be allowed to resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

Safet Susic’s side currently sit just one point behind the second place in the group, but with a game in hand, meaning that they would probably be happy even with one point from Romania. Draw is quoted at 3.40 (12/5) with Bet365.

Sead Salihovic, Ognjen Vranjes and Muhamed Subasic were forced to withdraw through injury, while new Dinamo Zagreb signing Mehmed Alispahic has been called as a replacement.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Hasagic – Spahic, Mravac, Mujdza – Lulic, Pjanic, Rahimic, Misimovic, Medunjanin – Dzeko, Ibisevic.
