Roma vs Inter preview

The Coppa Italia semi-final first leg will be seen by both sides as a chance to kick-start their season with a good result, so we should expect a pretty exciting affair.

Roma seriously damaged their European qualification hopes as they lost at home to Palermo and they are now just one point clear of the seventh-placed Juventus.

The Giallorossi will have a chance to save their season by winning the Coppa Italia, although that is easier said than done.

The hosts will have Juan back from suspension, but Philippe Mexes has been ruled out for the season.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Doni – Cassetti, Burdisso, Juan, Riise – De Rossi, Pizarro – Tadei, Perotta, Vucinic – Totti.

Inter’s season has been going from bad to worse as the Neroazzurri needed just a couple of weeks to ruin everything they had worked for.

Four defeats in last five games saw Inter get eliminated from the Champions League, as well as lose all chances to fight for the Serie A title, meaning that Coppa Italia becomes the priority for the Neroazzurri.

Coach Leonardo appears to have lost control over the dressing room, as witnessed by his decision to leave out Maicon, Motta and Sneijder out of the team for disciplinary reasons.

The visitors are now under big pressure to improve, but we are yet to see how they will react to the latest situation.

Maicon and Sneijder should return to the starting line-up, while Diego Milito could also start. Walter Samuel is still not ready to feature.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Julio Cesar – Maicon, Ranocchia, Lucio, Nagatomo – Zanetti, Cambiasso, Stankovic – Sneijder – Milito, Eto’o.

Victor Chandler offers the best prices on all three outcomes, with home win paying 2.60 (8/5), draw quoted at 3.40 (12/5) and away win paying 2.88 (15/8).
