Zambia boss Herve Renard has moved to praise his team after the quarter-final win over Sudan, while insisting the Chipolopolo haven’t shown everything they’ve got at this tournament.

The impressive 3-0 win over Sudan saw the Southern African nation qualify for the AFCON semi-finals for the first time since 1996.

National team boss Herve Renard believes the experience of his players is the main reason behind the great run of results in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

“Remember, we have been to the finals every time since 2004. There are many players here who are in their fourth successive tournament and have picked up a lot of experience along the way,” Renard was quoted as saying.

“The side have been together for a long time but without any big stars like many of the other teams. The star is the team. It’s a very big advantage because we are not scared about any other teams.”

The Zambia boss believes that his side can reach the tournament final and maybe even win the coveted title.

“We have to be proud of our achievement and now we have to go to Gabon on 12 February (tournament final).”

Zambia face Ghana in the semi-finals on Wednesday and the Chipolopolo are 3.00 (2/1) with Paddy Power to make it to the final.
