Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad preview

Having lost to Osasuna, Real Madrid virtually said goodbye to the title race and they now have to fear even for the second place in the standings.

A big win over Real Sociedad would help the players restore some of the lost confidence and return to form before the Champions League resumes, so that is exactly what los Merengues will be looking to achieve.

Sergio Ramos sits out through suspension, while Pepe and Pedro Leon have not been included to the squad. Gago and Canales return to contention.

Real Sociedad returned to the top part of the table as they beat Almeria at home and Martin Lasarte’s side clearly have nothing to lose at Santiago Bernabeu.

Boosted by the good run of results and the 4:0 victory in their last away game, Real Sociedad will try to produce an upset, although that is easier said than done.

The visitors will be without captain Mikel Aranburu, who is out with injury, but good news is that Mikel Gonzalez returns from suspension.

Offering 1.18 (2/11) on Real Madrid, Paddy Power has the best price on the market on home win, whereas Real Sociedad are 5.00 (4/1) not to lose the game.
