Spanish El Clasico is still considered to be one of the biggest matches in world football, so no wonder that the clash between archrivals Real Madrid and Barcelona will have undivided attention this weekend.

It’s been a while since Real Madrid last entered El Clasico in a better position than their rivals, and there are no doubts that the six-point (three points and a game in hand) cushion at the top of La Liga is set to give the hosts a big psychological advantage over their opponents.

Los Blancos have been thoroughly impressive this season and after suffering several slip ups at the start to the league campaign, they managed to stabilize their form and are now simply unstoppable.

Jose Mourinho’s side are currently on a 15-match winning run, and at 2.40 (7/5) offered by Bet365 home win looks like a nice bet, even if it is Barcelona on the other side.

The Portuguese manager rested most of his starters in the 3:0 Champions League victory over Ajax, meaning that key players are now set to return, although Mourinho have some doubts over the look of his starting line-up.

Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain are vying for one place up front, although the Frenchman appears to be leading the race as he was subbed against Ajax, probably so as to get some rest before the Barca game.

According to the latest reports, Mourinho is set to play with three defensive midfielders, as he has often done against Barcelona, which will probably see Mesut Ozil left on the bench.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Casillas – Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo – Alonso, Khedira, Diarra – Di Maria, Benzema, Ronaldo.

Barcelona may have dominated Spanish and European football over the last few years, but they still enter this match as slight underdogs.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already suffered five slip ups on domestic stage, which is too much for their standards, and they desperately need a win in El Clasico is order to return into the title race.

The Catalans are now three points behind Real, who also have a game in hand, but at 2.70 (17/10) offered by Betfair, backing Barcelona to win La Liga title may not be such a bad bet.

If they want to keep the title race alive, the Catalans will have to win at Bernabeu, and they are no less than 3.00 (2/1) with Victor Chandler to do so.

Pep Guardiola has just one doubt regarding the starting line-up, with David Villa and Alexis Sanchez vying for one place in attack, but it looks as though the Spanish international is set to get the nod.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Valdes – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Abidal – Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas – Pedro, Messi, Villa.
