Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain face the first real test in the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign as they play host to third-placed Lyon.

Les Gones are unbeaten in six games this season and they will certainly be looking to put a dent into PSG’s title hopes.

Having lost the league title to Monaco and also failed to impress in the Champions League last season, the Saints are clearly determined to make things right this term.

The marquee signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were clearly signs of intention from the wealthy Qatari owners, who don’t seem to care much about FIFA’s Fair Play regulations.

The two forwards have already managed to make an impact, as the Brazilian produced 5 goals and as many assists in his first 5 games, whereas the Frenchman scored in his first two appearances.

And with Edinson Cavani bagging 9 goals in 7 games, it is clear that Lyon defenders will have their work cut out for them.

Following the 5-0 hammering of Celtic in midweek, the Saints have been made 1.17 (1/6) favourites to claim maximum points.

Javier Pastore and Angel di Maria continue to miss out through calf and thigh injuries respectively, whereas Thomas Meunier is still not at 100%.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Areola – Dani Alves, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Kurzawa – Verratti, Motta, Rabiot – Mbappe, Cavani, Neymar.

The Lyon squad underwent a major reconstruction this summer, and, given the circumstances, they have done really well in the opening exchanges.

Les Gones recorded three wins and two draws in the opening five league fixtures, while they came really close to winning the Europa League clash against Apollon on Thursday.

Lyon have yet to lose a competitive fixture this season, although they have recorded three draws in last four, and now face a tough task against red-hot PSG.

It has to be noted that les Gones lost last four matches at Parc des Princes and they last won there back in 2012.

Lyon, however, did pretty well on recent Ligue 1 travels, winning five of last six games and only sharing spoils with Nantes.

Apart from Pape Diop, head coach Bruno Genesio has no serious selection worries, although there will be some changes to the side that faced Apollon in midweek.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-31-1): Lopes – Rafael, Marcelo, Morel, Marcal – Tousart, Feri – Traore, Fekir, Depay – Diaz.
