Paris Saint Germain president Nasser El-Khelaifi has said that he is ‘very confident’ of agreeing contract extensions with star duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The pair have just two years left to run on their current deals at the Parc des Princes, with recent reports suggesting that the French giants will have to unload at least one of them to rebalance their wage bill.

However, El-Khelaifi has confirmed that it is his aim to keep both Neymar and Mbappe in the French capital.

Talking to RMC, he said: “We have started to speak with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Those talks will remain confidential, but I am very confident. They both want to stay with us.”

Since arriving at PSG, both players have very quickly established themselves as key performers at the club. Having signed from Barcelona for a world record transfer fee, Neymar has scored 79 goals and assisted a further 46 in 96 appearances. Elsewhere, Mbappe has plundered 102 goals in 138 appearances.

The two were also key in the Parisians reaching the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League this week, both scoring in their 5-1 thumping of Istanbul Basaksehir.

PSG can now be backed at odds of 10/1 with William Hill to go one step further this season and lift the Champions League crown come the end of the season.
