Paris Saint-Germain have signed a professional contract with Timothy Weah, the son of famous footballer George Weah, it has been revealed.

The 17-year-old footballer penned a three-year deal with the Saints, some 22 years after his father ended a three-year spell with the Saints.

Timothy Weah is a United States Under-17 international, while he also has a French passport.

The talented forward has shown a great deal of promise playing for Paris Saint-Germain youth sides, bagging a hat-trick on his UEFA Youth League debut in September 2016.

Some even believe that Timothy Weah could come close to repeating the heroics of his father, who remains the only African player to have won Ballon d’Or (1995).

“I am very proud to continue the adventure,” Weah said

“I am in a big club and I look forward to continuing to progress so that I can one day play for the first team.”

Weah had begun his youth career with New York Red Bulls and he went on to move to Parc des Princes in July 2014.
