Sporting Braga coach Domingos Paciencia has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season regardless of the outcome of Europa League final against Porto.

The talented coach who has led Braga to historic Europa League final admitted he would leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

“The fans will understand and forgive me for not continuing in Braga,” Paciencia was quoted as saying.

“I’ve always been honest about working methods and dealing with issues. I’m very grateful for the recognition I’ve received.”

“What I’ve said is not news to anyone. You (the press) are always talking about it.

“The president himself talked about it after the match against Benfica, saying that I was going to miss Braga.”

Paciencia enjoyed a great success during his two years in charge of Braga, leading his side to second-place finish in Liga Sagres before guiding them to the Europa League final.

Seeing they are set to face high-flying Porto, Braga are clearly the underdogs in the Europa League final, and they are now 4.60 (18/5) with Betfair to win the coveted title. Priced at 1.29 (2/7) at 888Sport, Porto are clearly odds-on favourites for the trophy.
