Ukraine boss Oleg Blokhin has announced his provisional 26-man squad for the European Championship, while also naming eight reserves.

The 26-man squad will travel to a ten-day training camp in Turkey on 15th May before they resume their preparations in Ukraine.

Former Barcelona defender Dmitro Chygrynskiy misses out through injury, while the boss faces a real selection headache in the goalkeeping department, with Olexandr Shovkovskiy, Andriy Dikan and Olexandr Rybka all unavailable for selection.

Shakhtar’s Andiry Pyatov will be considered first choice keeper in their absence, while it is important to note that Andriy Shevchenko also made the squad.

Other high-profile names in the squad include Olexandr Aliyev, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Andriy Voronin and Artem Milevskiy.

Blokhin also named eight players who are on stand-by and they are not expected to travel to the training camp in Turkey.

“These players will not travel to Turkey, but they need to maintain their form in order to be ready to join the team at any moment,” said Blokhin.

Ukraine have been placed in Group D alongside Sweden, France and England, and the co-hosts are 2.38 (11/8) with bet365 to qualify for the quarter-finals.
