Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar is currently in talks to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 giants.

The Brazilian’s current deal expires in the summer of 2022, having originally penned a five-year contract following a record breaking move from Barcelona in 2017.

According to Sky Sports, he has now entered negotiations to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes, with president Nasser El-Khelaifi suggesting that he is ‘very confident’ of Neymar remaining in the French capital.

Neymar has also recently stated that he is aiming to remain with his current employers.

Speaking after PSG’s UEFA Champions League clash against Istanbul Basaksehir, he said: “I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my team-mates. The idea of leaving has not crossed my mind.

“We need to talk. We have a very good relationship, I am very happy and we will see what happens in the future.”

Neymar made his return from injury in the 2-1 win against Marseille in the Trophee des Champions on Wednesday evening, a match in which he scored. Neymar is at odds of 3/1 with William Hill to add to his goal haul with the opening strike in the Ligue 1 clash with Angers on Saturday evening.
