Spain international Jesus Navas has agreed to extend his contract with Sevilla until June 2015, with the new release clause set to €35 million.

Los Rojiblancos managed to persuade their most prized asset to remain at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, although the relatively low release clause means the player could still leave if the right offer comes along.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido didn’t hide his excitement regarding the agreement.

“It was Jesus’ fundamental thinking of staying here for many years with a contract in accordance to his worth and merit, without forgetting he is the world champion.”

The player himself was also happy to have signed a new deal.

“I have received the support from everyone and I am aware of the board’s efforts. I have matured in all aspects and while one never knows what could happen, my first intention was to continue here.”

With Navas back to the side after the short spell on the sidelines, los Rojiblancos are looking to return to the race for the Champions League places, and you should know 888Sport pays 5.50 (9/2) on Sevilla to achieve a top 4 finish.
