Monaco need just one more point to mathematically secure the first league trophy in the 21st century and no doubts that Stade Louis II will be rocking on Wednesday evening.

Having the unenviable task of trying to avoid a heavy defeat will be indifferent Saint-Etienne, who will attempt to make amends for the 5-0 home loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

While they couldn’t get past Juventus to reach the Champions League final, Monaco demonstrated their power in French Ligue 1, where they have all but secured the title.

Starting the campaign strongly, the Principality club never strayed from their path and the run of ten consecutive league victories saw them clinch the coveted trophy.

Boasting a superior goal difference to holders PSG (+17), Monaco can even afford to lose both remaining fixtures, but we are sure that will not be happening.

The 4-0 hammering of Lille proved Leonardo Jardim’s side are still focused on task at hand and we fully believe they will enjoy another resounding triumph against Saint-Etienne.

The boss is unlikely to make any changes to the side that defeated les Dogues few days ago, especially as Nabil Dirar remains in the infirmary.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Subasic – Fabinho, Glik, Jemerson, Sidibe – Bernardo Silva, Moutinho, Bakayoko, Lemar – Mbappe, Falcao.

Saint-Etienne long ago established themselves as a top table side in French Ligue 1, but they have been unable to make the next step.

Les Verts did play European football this season, qualifying for the Europa League knockout stages, only to be defeated by Manchester United.

The league campaign hasn’t been a success either as Saint-Etienne currently occupy eighth place in the overall standings and the highest they can finish is seventh position.

Les Verts have largely struggled when facing Ligue 1’s top sides of late, as witnessed by 4-0 and 5-0 defeats to Marseille and PSG, so no wonder Monaco are 1.20 (1/5) to claim maximum points.

The game will mark the end of an eight-year reign of head coach Christophe Galtier, who has no fresh selection worries at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Ruffier – Malcult, Catherine, Perrin, Pogba – Veretout, Selnaes – Hamouma, Saivet, Monnet-Paquet – Beric.
