Milan vs Lazio preview

Milan needed an extra time goal from Alexandre Pato to eliminate Novara in the previous round, whereas Lazio won their clash with Verona thanks to injury time goal from Hernanes.

Following the slow start to the season, the Rossoneri managed to rediscover their form in late September and they have been going strong ever since.

The good run of results came to an abrupt end as Maxi Allegri’s side were beaten by Inter in Derby della Madonnina, but Milan had done well to dominate the proceedings and were very unlucky not to get anything from that clash.

The Rossoneri then beat Novara 2:1 in Coppa Italia last 16 stage, despite the fact that Allegri had fielded a second string side, while they then recorded a 3:0 win over the same opponent in Serie A.

Milan now play host to Lazio hoping to continue the good run, and they are 1.84 (21/25) with 188BET to win in regular time.

Maxi Allegri is again expected to rest some key players, but he should field much stronger side than the one that faced Novara in the previous round.

Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Nesta and Gianluca Zambrotta have resumed full training, but Thiago Silva is a doubt.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Amelia – Bonera, Nesta, Mexes, Mesbah – Seedorf, Ambrosini, Emanuelson – Merkel – Inzaghi, El Shaarawy.

Lazio, too, had a slow start to the season, which was hardly a surprise considering the numerous changes in the squad over the summer.

The Biancocelesti soon started to improve and began to climb the Serie A standings, but just as they closed the gap behind the leading pack, they suffered another dip in form.

Edy Reja’s side slipped to fifth place after winning just one of their last five league games, whereas they were not punished for the poor performance against Hellas Verona in Coppa Italia.

Lazio showed some improvement to beat Atalanta and they played well in the 2:1 defeat to Inter, but backing them to win this game doesn’t look like the right thing to do, even if BetVictor pays 4.75 (15/4) on away win.

Lorik Cana, Stefano Mauri and Libor Kozak remain sidelined, but Edy Reja is still expected to field a very strong line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Bizarri – Konko, Diakite, Dias, Radu – Gonzalez, Ledesma, Lulic – Hernanes – Rocchi, Cisse.
