Premier League Trophy

The Football League season concludes at Wembley Stadium this afternoon where Middlesbrough face Norwich City in the Championship Play-Off Final.

Boro have been out of the top flight since 2009, while Norwich are looking to bounce straight back after being relegated twelve months ago.

Aitor Karanka’s side finished fourth in the table, four points shy of an automatic promotion place and beat Brentford 5-1 on aggregate to book their place in the end of season finale, dubbed the richest game in English football.

Championship Player of the Season Patrick Bamford is a doubt with the ankle issue that kept him out of the second leg victory of Brentford ten days ago so Kike and Jelle Vossen are again expected to lead the line.

Kike is priced at 9.0 (8/1) to open the scoring with Ladbrokes, with Vossen available at the same price with the same firm.

The Teesiders are 3.0 (2/1) to win the match inside ninety minutes with Coral, with the Canaries priced at 2.75 (7/4) with William Hill. The draw is widely available at 3.3 (23/10).

Alex Neil’s side finished one place and one point above their opponents, and got past East Anglia rivals Ipswich Town in the semi-finals, winning 4-1 on aggregate.

Lewis Grabban is available after serving a ban, and will compete with top scorer Cameron Jerome and Gary Hooper for a starting berth.

Jerome is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 7.0 (6/1) with a number of firms, with Hooper a 7.5 (13/2) chance with Sky Bet.

In both meetings throughout the regular season, it was the North East side who took the points on both occasions.

Boro ran out 4-0 winners at the Riverside Stadium back in November, while they also won without conceding at Carrow Road last month, with an early Alex Tettey own goal enough to separate the sides.

They can be backed at 4.5 (7/2) with Sky Bet to win to nil this time around, while as one goal has been enough for the last two Championship Play-Off winners, you may want to take advantage of the 3.1 (21/10) on offer from Betfair for there to be under 1.5 this time around.
