Mallorca vs Real Madrid preview

Struggling Mallorca could find it hard to stop high-flying Real Madrid, but we should still see an entertaining game at Iberostar Estadi.

Mallorca have established themselves as genuine mid table side over the years, but the Islanders are experiencing bid problems this season.

The club management brought quite a few new players in the summer so as to compensate for the departure of De Guzman and Webo, but the new signings have yet to prove their worth in La Liga.

Mallorca have done well enough to stay above the relegation zone, but being just three points above the bottom three, they cannot afford to relax just yet.

The team showed a lot of improvement recently, as they brought one point from the away game against Levante, before trashing Real Sociedad 6:1 in Copa del Rey.

However, even at odds of 13.00 (12/1), backing Mallorca to win this one doesn’t look like the right thing to do.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Aouate – Cendros, Chico, Ramis, Bigas – Tissone, Pina – Pereira, Nsue, Castro – Hemed.

Real Madrid enter the game in great spirits, after extending their advantage at La Liga summit to five points and they are determined to continue the good run of results against Mallorca.

After the home defeat to Barcelona ended their 14-match winning run, los Blancos managed to win next six games in all competitions, proving that they are one of the in-form sides in Europe at the moment.

Having won their last ten away games in all competitions, Real Madrid have got to be considered favourites in this clash, so no wonder William Hill pays just 1.30 (3/10) on away win.

Sami Khedira, Angel Di Maria and Ricardo Carvalho remain sidelined, but Marcelo returns to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Coentrao, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo – Xabi Alonso, Diarra – Callejon, Ozil, Ronaldo – Benzema.
