Lokomotiv vs CSKAIn-form Lokomotiv Moscow will be aiming to continue the bright run of results when they host reigning champions CSKA at Stadion Lokomotiv.

Loko haven’t had much to cheer about since winning their only two league titles in 2002 and 2004, having failed to achieve a top 4 finish in last six campaigns.

After the team ended last season in ninth place, the club chiefs had no choice but to sack Slaven Bilic and they appointed highly rated Leonid Kuchuk in his place.

Even with captain Denis Glushakov leaving the club and no major signings arriving, Lokomotiv enjoyed a bright start to the league campaign, taking four points from two away games.

Having scored in the dying moments of the Anzhi game to earn one point, Leonid Kuchuk’s side also scored late in the match to defeat Volga and they are certainly hoping to continue the good run against the reigning champions.

In spite of their good run of results, Loko are no less than 4.00 (3/1) with Sportingbet to defeat their arch rivals on Sunday morning.

Boss Leonid Kuchuk is without new selection problems, but forward Maicon should be recalled to the starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Guilherme – Shishkin, Corluka, Durica, Yanbaev – Samedov, Tarasov, Zapater, Grigorjev – Maicon – N’Doye.

CSKA Moscow finally ended Zenit’s domestic dominance and a seven-year wait for a league trophy last term, while also winning the Russian Cup to complete the domestic double.

Seeing as how all key players remained at the club, the Army Men didn’t need to make any major signings, although talented midfielders Steven Zuber and Georgi Milanov were signed to increase competition for places.

CSKA proved their worth by recording a 3-0 victory over Zenit in the Russian Super Cup match, but they experienced all sorts of problems in their opening league matches.

After scoring late to avoid defeat to Ural, the Army Men came from behind to defeat Krylya Sovetov at home, despite missing a penalty in the process and playing more than 80 minutes with ten men.

Buoyed by such a great comeback, Leonid Slutsky’s men go into the Lokomotiv game full of confidence, so bear in mind away win pays 1.95 (19/20) at William Hill.

Club icon Vagner Love is no longer part of the squad having joined Shandong Luneng, whilst full-back Georgi Schennikov misses out through suspension.

Winger Zoran Tosic has resumed training following a two-month break, but he is still few weeks away from making a return into action.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Akinfeev – Vasin, Ignashevich, V. Berezutski, A. Berezutski – Honda, Wernbloom, Zuber – Musa, Dzagoev – Doumbia.
